Once upon a time, a professor was talking about stress management to an audience. The professor took a glass of water, which was about half-filled and asked his audience, ‘How heavy is this glass of water?’. Several members of the audience gave their answers. Finally, the professor said, ‘The weight of the glass of water doesn’t matter. What matters is how long you hold it. Now, if I hold it for a minute, it's okay. If I hold it for an hour, my arm will start to ache. And, if I keep holding it for the whole day, you will have to take me to the hospital. So, what I am trying to say is the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes’. He continued, ‘So, now think of the glass of water as stress. The longer you hold it, the heavier it becomes. And, holding on to it doesn’t solve the problem.’
