  • The metabolism slows down as without food the body goes into energy conservation mode.
  • As the glycogen stored in muscles is used up, your skin may feel dry. And prolonged juice cleanses may lead to premature ageing.
  • If you are only consuming juices, the body does not get protein and so you may lose muscle mass.
  • Juice cleanses lead to diarrhea, as the liquid will pass through the digestive tract much faster.

Just like other trends, this one is here to stay as people continue to give mixed reviews for the same. But trying out never harmed anyone.
